The Fall Rec Reader is now available online!

The Rec Reader is moving to a digital-first format to make it easier and more convenient for the community to access program information and resources. Residents can view the publication anytime from a computer, tablet, or mobile device online. This change helps the City share more information in a sustainable way, reduce paper use, and the environmental impacts associated with printing and mailing. Pick up a printed copy of the Rec Reader at the West Hollywood Aquatic and Recreation Center, Plummer Park, and City Hall.

Explore everything we have planned this season in our Fall Rec Reader! The Rec Reader is your go-to guide for recreation programs, events, and activities happening all quarter long. From toddlers to teens to older adults, there’s something for every member of the family to enjoy.

This fall's highlights include the Youth Halloween Carnival, Floating Pumpkin Patch, Movies in the Park, and the Veterans Day event. You’ll also find information on art programs, excursions, youth sports, drop-in programs, and so much more.

Best of all, registering is quick and easy, simply click on any activity in the Rec Reader to go to the sign-up details and secure your spot.

Fall Registration opens:

Residents: Tuesday, August 11 @ 10 a.m.

Non-Residents: Thursday, August 13 @ 10 a.m.

Save the date for Winter 2026/2027 registration:

Residents: Tuesday, November 10 @ 10 a.m.

Non-Residents: Thursday, November 12 @ 10 a.m.

Need to create an account?

The process is very easy:

Click here to register.
Create an account for an adult in the household, by clicking on the “Request Account” button.
You do not need to make a separate account for your child/children. You will have an opportunity to add children and other family members to your account during the process.
We recommend you set up your account before the registration date of programs, to help speed up the process.

West Hollywood and Hart Dog Park Hours & Maintenance Schedule

West Hollywood Dog Parks

Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Maintenance Hours

The Dog Parks will be closed for necessary and routine maintenance as follows:

Small Dog Park

Daily 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
Tuesday 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Large Dog Park

Daily 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. (except Tuesday)
Tuesday 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday and Friday 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

William S. Hart Dog Park

Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Maintenance Hours

Hart Dog Park is serviced every morning and remains open during cleaning.

Community Garden

Community Garden at Plummer Park

Amenities—Picnic Tables

We are pleased to announce that in September 2023, the City Council approved two interim Community Gardens at Plummer Park with 43 planter beds. Over the past few months, the lawn has been upgraded to provide enough space for the planter beds and access to water within a gated area to prepare for the official opening of the West Hollywood Community Garden. Community gardens are a valuable asset to members mental and physical health while contributing positively to the surrounding environment by creating a sense of community and contributing to environmental sustainability.

These community gardens are located on Fuller Lawn and in the North Parking Lot. The Community Garden planter beds are for licensed community gardeners; however, the City of West Hollywood strives to serve as many community members as possible and will host occasional events for all to enjoy.

For those community members currently on the waitlist, Recreation Staff will reach out to the next person on the waitlist when a plot opens to confirm the following (Information is subject to change):

Two accepted forms proving residency in the City of West Hollywood (utility bill, driver’s license)

Review and signature of the License Agreement sent via DocuSign

Payment for annual License cost ($120/yr.) and Key Deposit ($20)

Schedule a time to pick up garden key from Recreation Staff

PLEASE NOTE: The waitlist is substantial and currently full, and planter beds are being assigned in the order of the current waitlist. We are not taking any additional registrations for the waitlist at this time.
