The City of West Hollywood's HIV Zero Initiative is a comprehensive program designed to reduce HIV infections, improve access to care, and enhance the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS. The initiative adopts a multi-faceted approach, including:

1. Prevention and Education: It emphasizes the importance of regular testing early detection, and offers prevention tools like PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis).
2. Access to Care: The initiative strives to eliminate barriers to healthcare, ensuring everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status, has access to HIV treatments and services.
3. Reducing Stigma: A crucial initiative component is addressing and countering the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS through community outreach, education, and advocacy.
4. Support and Services: Beyond medical care, the program offers support in areas such as housing, mental health services, and social services, recognizing that holistic care is essential for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

The HIV Zero Initiative embodies West Hollywood's commitment to becoming a city with zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths, and zero stigma related to HIV/AIDS.

The City of West Hollywood's Poverty Reduction Initiative is designed to provide innovative interventions for low-income residents and builds upon and complements the City's existing commitment and efforts. The Initiative helps reduce expenses and increase income for community members experiencing financial instability, such as helping to access CalFresh and launching a pilot for guaranteed income.

LA County Lesbian, Bisexual & Queer Women's Health Collaborative

The Los Angeles County Lesbian, Bisexual & Queer Women's Health Collaborative (LBQWHC) was created by individuals concerned about health disparities for lesbian, bisexual and queer women in Los Angeles County. Lesbian, bisexual and queer women's health was identified as a priority issue at the 2007 Women's Health Summit sponsored by the L.A. County Department of Public Health's Office of Women's Health. In 2008, the City Council of the City of West Hollywood adopted the Lesbian Health Bill of Rights, which was written by the City of West Hollywood's Lesbian Visibility Committee. Members of the Lesbian Visibility Committee worked with the L.A. County Office of Women's Health to host the first meeting of local key stakeholders in lesbian and bisexual women's health. This evolved into the L.A. County Lesbian, Bisexual & Queer Women's Health Collaborative (LBQWHC), established in 2009.
