What is CalFresh?
Calfresh is a monthly benefit that helps you buy food. Use CalFresh at over 60 grocery stores, food retailers, restaurants and farmers markets in and around West Hollywood.

Medical expenses: Get more benefits when you show your medical expenses. Collect your monthly medical receipts to include with your application. Including things you pay for like: hearing aids, dentures and other dental expenses, doctor bills, prescription drugs and other over the counter medication approved by a doctor, transportation costs to healthcare services, attendant care

For example, if you are a single household with a monthly income between $0 and $2,024 complete an application to confirm your CalFresh benefit.
Larger households can qualify for more benefits, depending on income levels.
CalFresh benefits can be used for a wide range of products, but there are some restrictions.
CalFresh can be used to buy food like:
- Fruits and vegetables;
- Beans, fish, poultry, meat;
- Rice, bread, tortillas, cereal;
- Milk and cheese; and
- Seeds and plants that produce food.
CalFresh cannot be used to buy:
- Alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes;
- Non-food items (pet food, toilet paper, diapers, soap, etc.);
- Vitamins and medicine;
- Foods that will be eaten in the store; and
